The mission of the department is to plan, direct, control and coordinate all those activities concerned with materials and inventory requirements from their point of inception to their point of use.
In the operation of the hospital, the Materials Management Department is responsible for:
- The planning and control of materials
- Purchasing
- Inventory control
- Shipping
- Receiving
- Processing of invoices
- Processing and internal distribution of supplies
Goal
To maintain at all times and under all conditions, a continuous supply of quality goods and services necessary to support all user departments of the hospital at the right time and at the lowest possible price.
